With our big move on the horizon, the Move_me Townhalls contain vital information to get you packed up and ready for 144 Oxford. If you weren’t able to attend our October Townhalls live, you were missed but not left out! Here’s a recap.

We announced the lucky winners of our “Home is where the OREnaments are!” competition in Townhall 4, but the fun didn’t stop there. Live attendees participated in the “Spot the Box” competition, where they had to keep an eye out for hidden boxes within the presentation – with the fastest fingers being rewarded. Anton Uys spoke on the progress of the construction, which is coming along nicely. Furniture is currently being installed on the 2nd floor, with the final installations in the northeast beginning on 25 November. The completion date is set for 2 December! Bea Swanepoel discussed the timeline for packing up and moving, dished out some useful tips, and updated us on access cards and the building tour schedule.

Townhall 3 contains all the necessary info regarding safety and security in and around 144 Oxford, outlined by William Abraham, who also explained everything you need to know about the RIC (Risk Intelligence Centre) – which is making it safer for employees to travel and work in Rosebank. You’ll also get to see the Movers and Shapers’ reactions to the new building, and how they got their access cards easy-breezy. Finally, Bea Swanepoel laid out precisely what you can expect in the next few months, from packing up in November to the official move in December.

Boxes Are Everywhere! ‘Spot the Box’ Winners Announced

Boxes Are Everywhere! ‘Spot the Box’ Winners Announced

We had a lot of fun spying boxes during the 4th Move_me Townhall.

Those that attended the most recent townhall live had the opportunity to participate in the “Spot the Box” competition, where 8 box icons were hidden around the presentation. Players had to use their eagle eyes to find the boxes and tally the total. At the end of the townhall, they entered their total amount in the chat box.

The fastest CORRECT fingers won at the end of the day, and the following employees did just that:

Well done to all our winners! We hope you enjoy your R650 Takealot vouchers.

Kumba Move to 144 Oxford Newsletter / August 2022

Our First Townhall

Preparing for the big move

Our first Townhall was held on 25 August to discuss and navigate the moving of Kumba Iron Ore’s corporate office to 144 Oxford. This is an exciting time that comes with various changes (and challenges) that will open up incredible opportunities for next-level collaboration – from an environmental, technological and people perspective. For Kumba to come out on top in this ever-changing world, we need to have a future-enabled workforce, which is exactly what we’re working on moving towards.

During the Townhall, we discussed how a single building helps us to develop the Anglo American brand identity (while maintaining our individuality as a business unit), and why our move is the right move, strategically speaking. The amazing features of the building itself, as well as the more logistical side of the move.

We answered some of the questions that came up about space and occupancy, the moving date and the value proposition of the new canteen and gym. Expanding on the security measures we have in place, guards will be patrolling the grounds 24/7 to ensure you never feel unsafe when walking between the Gautrain station and the office. We encourage you to ask one of the guards to escort you, should you leave the office late.
